Breaking: Kansas State Lands One Of The Best Players In The College Basketball Transfer Portal, Making Them A Legit Contender Next Season

Kansas State was left out of the NCAA Tournament this past season after a great run in the 2023 March Madness, but on Friday afternoon, the Wildcats received amazing news that will help them become one of the best teams in college basketball next season.

According to Jeff Goodman from The Field of 68, Illinois transfer Coleman Hawkins is heading to Kansas State for his final season.

Hawkins spent the last four seasons at Illinois, finished AP Poll Second Team All Big-Ten last year, and was the third leading scorer, averaging 12.1 points a game.

The 6-foot-10 power forward will bring his physical play to the Big 12, where toughness and physical play are essential for beating teams like Kansas, Houston, Baylor, and newcomer Arizona.

Hawkins will bring his veteran presence to the team, and with college basketball being such a young man's sport, having a fifth-year player will be very helpful to all the young players.

Expect Kansas State to be in the preseason Top-25 poll now, and they should have a great season; hopefully, they will be putting on their dancing shoes next March.
