Breaking: Major Cavs Star Could Miss Game 4 Against Boston, Which Could Lead To A Celtics Win
The Cleveland Cavaliers are heading into Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals on Monday night down two games to one against the Boston Celtics, and they could be missing their best player.
The Cavs have already been down All-Star center Jarrett Allen for the entire series with a rib injury, and he is questionable for Game Four. Still, the Cavs could be missing star guard Donovan Mitchell, who is questionable with a calf injury.
A report came out on Monday morning that Mitchell was not seen during the Cavs shootaround. When a player misses a shootaround before a game due to an injury, that often means that player won't be playing in the game.
If the All-Star guard is out, the point guard Darius Garland and forward Evan Mobley will have to carry the load. Mobley had a great Game Two win at Boston, but he can be hit or miss at times, and Garland has been a big no-show throughout the playoffs.
Mitchell scored 33 points twice and 29 points through his first three games in this series, so if the star guard is out, the scoring will have to be divided among the rest of the starters and rotational players.
If the Cavs lose Game Four, coming back down three games to one will be tough. We all know the Cavs came back from that deficit before in the NBA Finals in 2016, but Lebron James is not working through the door to save the day, so Mitchell is the next best option, and hopefully, he is ready to go for Monday night's game.
