Breaking: New York Knicks Lose Their Biggest Star For The Season
The New York Knicks are one of the best teams in the NBA. As of Thursday, April 4th, they are 44-31 and the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks received harsh news on Thursday involving one of their most prominent players. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, "After two months of rehabilitation to attempt to return to the New York Knicks, All-NBA forward Julius Randle will undergo season-ending right shoulder surgery."
Randle has been out since January 27th and has been trying to rehab his shoulder without surgery for the last two months, but unfortunately, it didn't work, and now he will be having surgery that will end his season.
Losing Randle is a significant blow to the Knicks, who looked like they could be one of the biggest threats to come out of the East in the playoffs this summer.
Knicks starting point guard Jalen Brunson, who has been one of the best players in the NBA this season, will now have the opportunity to showcase his skills and help carry this team without the Knicks' second-best player.
We saw New York win the first round of the playoffs last season when they took down the Cleveland Cavaliers before getting knocked off by the Miami Heat in round two. Many fans thought maybe they could make the Eastern Conference Finals this season, but now, with this injury news to Randle, their season could be over.
