Breaking: The Cleveland Browns Extended Two Important Pieces To Their Organization With Major Contracts
The Cleveland Browns have been known for firing head coaches and general managers almost every season since they returned as a team in 1999. Still, since 2020, they have started a new era of Cleveland Browns football when they hired Kevin Stefanski as their head coach and Andrew Berry as their general manager.
In four seasons with the team, Stefanski has helped bring the Browns to the playoffs twice and won NFL Coach of the Year both times. Berry has put together an elite roster, and both were rewarded with contract extensions on Tuesday.
According to Mary Kay Cabot from Cleveland.com, the Browns have extended Berry and Stefanski's contracts, and details will be provided soon.
Stefanski is the first coach since the Browns returned in 1999 to reach a fifth year and Cleveland's 10th full-time head coach in that time frame.
According to Mary Kay Cabot, Berry and Stefanski are now the longest-tenured general manager and head coaching duo in New Brown's history, dating back to the 1978-1984 season with Sam Rutigliano and Peter Hadhazy.
The Browns now have high standards this upcoming season after reaching the playoffs last year without their starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, and one of the best running backs in football, Nick Chubb.
Cleveland better make the postseason this year, or the city will have a long offseason, which could result in a quarterback change.
