Brock Bowers Has Uphill Battle To Fantasy Relevance In 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders selected Brock Bowers with the 13th overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft. Bowers comes into the league with 175 receptions for 2538 yards (14.5 yards per reception) and 26 touchdowns. He also added 19 rushes for 193 yards (10.2 yards per reception) and 5 touchdowns on the ground.

Bowers comes into the league as the most hyped tight end prospect since Kyle Pitts. As a freshman at UGA, he dominated in a run-first offense with 882 yards and 13 TDs for the national champions, showing off his versatility by even taking some carries from the backfield.

The Raiders' draft pick of Michael Mayer in the early part of the 2nd round of the previous draft was a bit confusing. With an unsettled quarterback situation, it could be a bit of a slow burn for Bowers. For Bowers to hit his almost unlimited potential and justify his high draft price, he will need to get a lot of snaps from the slot and find steady quarterback play from either Gardner Minshew or Aiden O’Connell.

Our consensus projections for Bowers in the 2024 season are 64 receptions, 722 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
