Bronny James Has Just Been Drafted In A Shocking Move
Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers forward and NBA legend LeBron James, has been selected in the 2024 NBA Draft 55th overall by the Lakers. After a successful high school career at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, James was one of the most recruited prospects in the country. He will join his father in playing for the yellow and gold.
Receiving offers since he was ten years old, Bronny chose USC over Ohio State and Oregon. Before his college career, Bronny was projected to be one of the top picks in the 2024 NBA Draft, with many teams hopeful that he could be just as good as his father.
Bronny James Looks To Live Up To The Hype
During his lone season with the Trojans, he had a disappointing season, averaging 4.8 points per game while only starting six games. The 19-year-old point guard shot 36% on field goals and only 26% on three-pointers. Despite that, he got a handful of workout opportunities from NBA teams, hoping they could lure his father to join their team as well.
It has been no secret that LeBron wanted to play with his son on the same team. With a looming decision on whether the 39-year-old will stay with the Lakers or leave for his fourth team in his 21-year career, drafting Bronny increases the chances that the future Hall-Of-Famer will return to Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.
Best of luck to Bronny James on his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be exciting to see if he has a great career like his father, even if he needs a little time to develop in the league.
