Can Joe Flacco Win You Another Fantasy Championship?
In the 2023 season, Flacco joined the Browns late in the season and only had the chance to start 5 games during the regular season. In these 5 Weeks, he ranked QB1, QB5, QB9, QB10, and QB13. All impressive weeks while he had barely learned the new playbook. This was a nice resurgence for the 39 year old as he had struggled in the chances he was given in the couple years past.
Joe Flacco was the reason some people won their fantasy championship in 2023 (This was not on our bingo card). It's a long shot to happen again, sure, but there was no shot. It happened last year.
This offseason, he signed a one-year deal with the Colts. He will go into the 2024 season as Anthony Richardson's backup and will only see playtime if Richardson gets injured. If this happens, Flacco would have a solid support crew in Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and rookie Adonai Mitchell.
If he does get playing time, he is one of the most intriguing players to watch in waiver wires. In all 1 QB leagues, Flacco should not be drafted. In 2 QB leagues, he could be a solid handcuff to Richardson owners as he suffered multiple injuries in his rookie year.
