Carolina Panthers Receiver Could Make His Return Soon

It's another season to forget for the Carolina Panthers. The team got a small bump after benching second-year quarterback Bryce Young, winning behind Andy Dalton in Las Vegas. Since then, Carolina has dropped four straight, including a 40-7 beating at the hands of the Washington Commanders.

One player isn't going to help this Panthers squad, but the return of wide receiver Adam Thielen could provide a slight boost to the offense.

Thielen's Return To The Carolina Panthers

Thielen was one of the brighter stars on the Panthers through the first three weeks of the season, and that's saying something, considering he only had eight catches for 109 yards and one touchdown.

The veteran receiver was injured in the Week Three game against the Raiders and has been on injured reserve since then. But now, Thielen is prepping for his return, as the Panthers announced on Wednesday that they've opened the 21-day practice window.

This allows Thielen to gradually work his way back into the lineup. He could return to on-the-field action as soon as this Sunday when Carolina travels to Denver to face the Broncos. Although Thielen isn't the player he used to be, his presence should help a passing game that had only 93 yards last week.

Panthers Upcoming Schedule

The schedule is somewhat friendly to the Panthers in the upcoming week, but they're still the lesser team in every game this season. After this weekend's game in Colorado, Carolina plays back-to-back home games against the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. Both of those matchups could be winnable for the Panthers.

Carolina has their bye week in Week 11, allowing extra time to prepare for the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. The season's last six weeks look like this for the Panthers: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 13), at Philadelphia Eagles (Week 14), vs. Dallas Cowboys (Week 15), vs. Arizona Cardinals (Week 16), at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 17), and they wrap up the regular season on the road against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18.
