Carolina Panthers Superstar Could Be On The Move
The Carolina Panthers are entering a very vital offseason after finishing 2-15 with the worst record in the NFL. With a lot of cap space, many are speculating what moves the team could make to improve its roster.
While the team's offense struggled a lot last year, the defense is filled with a lot of talent. But with rumors of Brian Burns being targeted by other teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, he is a hot name on the market. But the Panthers have to decide the future of 2021 first-round pick cornerback Jaycee Horn and whether they will pick up his fifth-year option. Even if they do, there is a chance the 24-year-old could be on the move.

Jaycee Horn Could Play Elsewhere In 2024
Jaycee Horn was one of the best cornerbacks in the 2022 NFL season. Regarded in the top ten defensive backs that year, Horn had three interceptions and did not allow a single touchdown all season. Quarterbacks had a 52.6 passer rating when throwing his way, second best in the NFL. But outside that season, he has played combined games in 2021 and 2023 including only four games this past season after a hamstring injury caused him to miss 13 games.
With his injury history, will the Panthers pick up his fifth-year option. A really good cornerback when healthy, many other teams could jump at the opportunity to trade for him if available on the market. Teams with big holes at defensive back like the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals might give new GM Dan Morgan a call. The Panthers could expect some good draft capital as well ranging from a late first-round pick to a couple second or third-round picks depending on how other teams view his value. But whether he's in Charlotte or another city, Horn has a bright future in the NFL if he can stay healthy.
