Celtics Have No Concern Regarding Kristaps Porzingis Injury

Game Two for the Boston Celtics was a success. They defeated the Dallas Mavericks 105-98. The Celtics are now two wins away from winning an NBA Championship and start to build a statue of former Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King. However, coming out of this game, Celtics fans got nervous with Kristaps Porzingis, who looked to have reaggravated his injury.

How He Looked To Have Re-Aggravated The Injury

In the third quarter of the second game, Porzingis's leg looked to have stiffened and buckled. He noticedably limped when he got up and was gingerly walking to the bench. The Celtics staff had taken a look at him. He did play a few minutes afterward, but it was clear his injury was aggravated, and as a precaution, they held him out of the fourth quarter.

In the third quarter, his leg appeared to stiffen. When the Mavericks took a timeout shortly after that occurrence, the former All-Star walked gingerly to the bench, where the training staff checked on him.

So, What Is The Good News?

Well, in a press conference, Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was questioned about it, and he said that the team has no concerns whatsoever regarding his injury.

Even the man himself is confident that he will be fine. He was even quoted saying that "I'll be good... I'll die out there". Just listen to the man himself below, because I believe him that no matter what he is going to play the rest of this game whether he is 100% or not.

That sounds great, but it is still clear that Porzingis is playing with some sort of injury. His play will be impacted, of course, and the Celtics are just going to have to adapt. However, I think he is healthier than Luka Doncic. While Doncic is still playing like Doncic, he clearly has a Knee/Ankle injury and is also dealing with a rib issue.

Luckily, the Celtics have enough depth on the team, but if they want to sweep the Dallas Mavericks Kenny Omega Style, they're going to need Porzingis to play. Dallas's depth and Big Three are a lot weaker than Boston's.

Time will tell if Porzingis will be ready for Game Three in the 2024 NBA Finals. However, from the sounds of it from Joe Mazzulla, I would feel confident that Porzingis is on the court in that game unless he has a setback in practice.
