Chase Edmonds Fantasy Outlook Is Bleak For 2024

There was a point in time when Chase Edmonds was supposed to be relevant for fantasy between his last season with the Cardinals, during which he was injured for most of it, and his first season in Miami, during which he quickly faded out of the rotation.

Now Edmonds is the Buccaneers' backup and doesn’t have much fantasy relevance if any at all. Last season, Rachaad White was great for fantasy as he received a ton of work in the passing game, but he wasn’t a game-breaking running back for football and still got all the work in Tampa. Edmonds was hurt last season, but even when healthy, he hardly got on the field.

The Bucs added to their backfield with 4th-round pick Bucky Irving, who, like Edmonds, is a smaller back with upside as a receiver. Edmonds still slots in as the backup to start the year but is by no means locked in to be the backup all season. Edmonds isn’t worth a draft pick in leagues unless it’s late in a dynasty start-up, and the league is extremely deep.

Our consensus projections for Edmonds in the 2024 season are 51 carries for 174 yards and 0  rushing touchdowns. As well as 7 receptions, 47 yards, and 0 touchdowns.
