Cincinnati Reds Are Hiring Terry Francona In A Crazy Move Nobody Saw Coming

The MLB postseason started with a bang, with the New York Mets coming back down two runs to beat the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card series.

Shortly after the game ended, news broke that the Cincinnati Reds had hired legendary manager Terry Francona. Francona retired from the Cleveland Guardians last year due to health issues.

Jeff Passan from ESPN stated, "The Cincinnati Reds are hiring Terry Francona as their manager, sources tell ESPN. He will come out of retirement one year after stepping away from Cleveland and will take over a young, talented Reds team @Feinsand was first on the news."

Francona won two World Series as the manager of the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and 2007 and is mainly known for breaking the Red Sox World Series drought and coming back from three games to nothing against the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS.

The 65-year-old manager also led Cleveland to the 2016 World Series but fell one game short of winning. Now, he will try to return to the fall classic with the other MLB team in Ohio.

Francona spent time with the Reds before, playing in 1987, so now he will head back to where he will most likely end his career.

The Reds have a nice young team that needs some guidance, and Francona can bring the veteran leadership to guide them in the right direction.
