Could The Vikings Trade This Superstar Ahead Of The 2024 NFL Draft?
The Minnesota Vikings are in a strange position this off-season. Quarterback Kirk Cousins could be headed toward free agency, while some fans think the team should turn their focus to one of the top QB prospects in the NFL Draft.
Minnesota holds the 11th pick, but one FOX Sports employee brought forward an interesting trade proposal, which could see the Vikings move up by trading All-Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

How The Rumor Started
Colin Cowherd sparked this discussion during his show 'The Herd' on FOX Sports earlier this week, saying the Vikings should trade Justin Jefferson, next year's first-round draft pick, and swap this year's draft selection with the New England Patriots, which would end with Minnesota picking third overall.
The potential trade became a talking point for sports radio in both the Minneapolis and Boston area.
Why It Doesn't Make Sense For The Vikings
Trading away your best player for a rookie quarterback who may turn into your starting quarterback seems like too big of a risk at the moment for Minnesota.
Personally, I've been calling for the Vikings to re-sign Kirk Cousins and run it back for one or two more seasons with the veteran QB. He was playing at such a high level before his Achilles injury in Week Eight. It would be a shame to not see him come back to a roster filled with offensive weapons.
The Vikings will have to pay both Cousins and Jefferson, and it won't be cheap. However, I believe they both showed their worth as the offence sputtered with them missing from the lineup. I'm not opposed to drafting a rookie QB, but is it worth giving up your top offensive weapon and a future first-round draft pick? I don't think so.
Also, one could argue New England needs a new quarterback more than Minnesota as we enter the 2024 Draft. Would the Patriots even be willing to move down from the third overall selection?
