Could This NFL Receiver Be The Next Breakout Star?
Every NFL season sees a bunch of unproven players who breakout and shine for their respective teams. For example, the Los Angeles Rams had a big year from 2022 5th-round pick Kyren Williams, who many had not heard of until this season. Alongside Williams, the Rams had a monster season out of Puka Nucua, who has been one of the best rookie wide receivers of all time. Other examples this season include Green Bay's Carrington Valentine, Pittsburgh's Jaylen Warren, Detroit's Sam LaPorta, and Philadelphia's Sydney Brown.
So who could be the next breakout star for the 2024 NFL season? A good choice would be wide receiver Demario Douglas of the New England Patriots.
Demario Douglas Could Be The Next Elite Patriots Playmaker
Demario Douglas was a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. After a successful few years at Liberty University, Douglas has had a good start to his NFL career racking up over 500 yards this season despite struggles at the quarterback position. In a weak receiving room, Douglas should be able to shine and be WR1 next season as the Patriots are expected to draft a quarterback. With plenty of options such as Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and Michael Penix Jr, whoever is throwing Douglas the ball in 2024 could help him breakout in the 2024 NFL season. Demario Douglas' future is bright in the NFL and in New England.
