Cristiano Ronaldo: What Is Next For The Greatest In 2022-23
Now there is no denying that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest soccer players of all time. However, there is always a potential chance of him ruining or damaging his legacy a little bit.
With the way he has been acting as of late and his cryptic responses to whether he is leaving Manchester United or not is leaving a lot of people wondering. They are wondering if Cristiano Ronaldo can still perform at a top level and how he will react to missing the champions league for the first time in a while. It will be interesting to see where Cristiano Ronaldo ends up heading into the new season.
Whether Cristiano Ronaldo ends up remaining at Manchester United, returning to his native Portugal, heading back to Spain or Italy or even Germany there is no doubt that all eyes will be on him. It is almost certain that Portugal could be rolled out as it is likely that he will prefer to remain in a top-five league and in the champions league conversation heading into next year. Rumors as of late have him linked to German giant Bayern Munich after Robert Lewandowski is reportedly going to Barcelona. If he lands at Bayern he will be right back in the champions league and winning league titles year in and year out in the Bundesliga.
A more of an outside shot is that he ends up at Paris Saint Germain with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé and an even bigger outside shot in my opinion is that he ends up back at Juventus. I think Byron Munich would be the correct move for Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment as it will allow him to step right in and replace Lewandowski’s star power right away. It would also put him right into the champions league group stage and give him a shot at an unprecedented sixth champions league title.
Cristiano Ronaldo is 37 years old at the moment and with the shape that he stays in it is very possible that he could play until at least 45 if not longer. But back to the question at hand, it’s his behavior damaging his legacy. The more time passes the more it seems like he wants out of Manchester United again as he would likely want to play in a European competition in the upcoming calendar year. However, there was always the chance that he could stay at Man United and guide them back to the champions league as well but in my opinion, that seems a lot less likely.
Cristiano Ronaldo To Germany?
He has a huge opportunity to prove himself with Portugal as the 2022 World Cup is approaching and it could quite possibly be his last one ever as well. If he can provide a strong performance for his country and show that he could still play at a top level then the ceiling is still endless for Cristiano Ronaldo and he could go anywhere he pleases anytime he wants. Make no mistake about it, despite the shortcomings that he has, we are still watching a generational player at work and the game of soccer won’t be the same when he hangs it up.
In my opinion, I believe Cristiano Ronaldo it’s going to end up at Bayern Munich heading into the 2022-2023 season and he’s going to take over the Bundesliga just like he has taken over the Premier League, La Liga, and Italy in his previous stops. He could even guide Bayern Munich back to champions league glory in his first season in Germany.
