D'Andre Swift's New Team Gives Him More Fantasy Value?

In 2023, D'Andre Swift topped 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career. This offseason he signed a three year deal with the revamped Chicago Bears. The hope is that Swift may once again top 1,000 yards or even more with the Bears being a traditional high volume running offense.

Swift was consistent during the first 11 weeks of the season, with 7 top-15 finishes. However, from Weeks 12-17, he finished higher than RB27 only twice, which has led to great disdain in some fantasy circles.

The Bears backfield does also have Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson, but neither are as versatile as Swift. Johnson is however a good pass blocker and works well in the receiving game which could take away some snaps from Swift but it shouldn’t have a major impact on his usage.

The Bears should be a more high powered team then we’ve seen in the past if first overall pick Caleb Williams can live up to his draft capital giving Swift plenty of redzone opportunities. One thing that adds some worry is Swift's injury history as 2023 was his first season in which an injury did not force him to miss any games. If Swift can stay healthy he should service as a solid RB2 on your roster this season.

Our consensus projections for Swift in the 2024 season are 203 carries for 743 yards and 5 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 39 receptions for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns.
