David Njoku Is Risky Yet Valuable For Fantasy In 2024

Breakout fantasy owners everywhere had been waiting for years, and it finally happened last year for David Njoku, who finished as the TE6 the previous season. But there are still significant questions, with a massive part of that productivity coming in the last four games of the season with Joe Flacco at quarterback. Over those final four games, Njoku was TE2, TE2, TE3, and TE3, with four of his season TDs coming during that span.

With Flacco now backing up Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis and the return of highly paid and highly disappointed Deshaun Watson, it remains to be seen if the last four weeks of the season were an aberration or if Njoku will be another TE who fully realized his potential later in his career. He can have a sustained run as one of the best fantasy TEs in the game.

With Jerry Juedy coming to town as the presumed WR2 and a definite upgrade over Elijah Moore, there will be more competition for targets. Still, ultimately, Njoku's production will depend on improving chemistry with Watson and whether Watson can finally play up to the hefty contract he received from the Browns.

Our consensus projections for Njoku in the 2024 season are 74 receptions, 821 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
