Derrick Henry Signing With Baltimore Finally Hit Me.

First, if you couldn't tell by the title, I'm a Titans fan. Second, I know it's been a few months, but it didn't feel real until this week. I guess I was in denial. But this week it finally set in that King Henry has defected to the dark side.

Derrick Henry With The Ravens Is Finally Sinking In.

The Baltimore Ravens continued their tradition of scooping up past their prime Titans greats (i.e.: Steve McNair and Derrick Mason) when they signed Derrick Henry to a two-year deal in March. When our beloved running back became a free agent at the end of last season, there was always speculation that he would sign with the Titans' conference rival in Baltimore.

Henry was almost sent to the Ravens in a trade-deadline deal last season before talks eventually fell through. So when he signed a two-year contract with them this offseason, while it was terrible news, it was not a huge surprise.

However, it didn't really sink in for me until this week. It's probably because we got our first glimpse of our former King in a Ravens jersey when the NFL tweeted a picture of Henry in the purple and gold on Tuesday.

These images made me sick to my stomach. Back in May, they tweeted a video asking who had the better backfield duo: The Eagles or the Ravens.

This may be the jaded Titans fan in me, but it feels like those two tweets were the most the NFL Twitter account has talked about Henry since he got hurt a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it will only get worse when the season starts. Now that he plays for the Ravens, anytime Henry has a 10-yard run, there will probably be a highlight saying it's the best he has looked in years.

On top of that, the Ravens have SEVEN primetime games this season. This includes two Sunday Night Football games (one being the 1st game of the season), two Monday Night Football games, two appearances on the Fox Game of the Week, and one Thursday Night Football game.

They also play on Christmas Day on Netflix if you want to count that as primetime. Plus they will probably be one of the best teams in the AFC so we will probably have to watch Henry run all over fools in the playoffs, too. We might see the same amount of Derrick Henry as last year with the number of Ravens games we'll be forced to watch.

I've still yet to decide if I will root for Henry to have success this season. Obviously, I will never root for the Ravens to win a Super Bowl. I won't be heartbroken if they miss the playoffs, either. In a dream scenario, Henry will rush for 1,500 yards and the Ravens somehow go 5-12. I'm thankful the football gods were not cruel enough to put Baltimore on the Titans' schedule. This year at least.

Well, now I've got myself good and bummed out. I need something to cheer me up. The video of Derrick Henry stiff-arming Earl Thomas should do!

Anyway, that is just me expressing my feelings to Titans Nation. So how about you? Now that it has been a few months, what are your feelings about Derrick Henry suiting up for the Ravens?

*On a personal note, one of my good friends is a Ravens fan. Hearing him talk about how great Derrick Henry is will just be another punch in the gut.
