Devin Singletary Has Solid Fantasy Value In 2024
Devin Singletary has had a bizarre few seasons in the NFL. After his time with the Buffalo Bills ended, Singletary signed a 1-year prove-it deal with the Houston Texans. At the time, this was a head-scraping move, especially with how Dameon Pierce emerged in his rookie season.
Well, Singletary surprisingly played better than Damian Pierce last season. Singletary got 216 carries for 898 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns, and 4.2 rushing yards per attempt. As a pass catcher last season, he regressed, only having 30 receptions for 193 receiving yards, which are career lows. From Week 10 on, Singletary had 5 top 15 finishes, averaging 19 touches, 93.3 yards, and .5 touchdowns a game.
In free agency, Singletary decided to reunite with Brian Daboll by signing with the New York Giants. He is clearly the replacement for Saquon Barkley and, with his knowledge of Daboll’s schemes, will be the number one back.
However, like Tony Pollard, how will Singletary perform with one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL? While he had a down season as a pass catcher, don't ignore him in ppr, as reuniting Daboll will likely give Singletary more chances to catch the football. He should be a mid-round selection in any draft league as the clear starter for the Giants.
Our consensus projections for Singletary in the 2024 season are 213 carries for 971 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. As well as 17 receptions, 118 yards, and 0 touchdowns.
