Devon Achane Has Insane Upside For Fantasy In 2024
Going into Devon Achane’s rookie season, there were many doubts about his transition to the NFL due to similar-sized RBs struggling to make a career for themselves in the past. It didn’t take long for him to prove that his speed is no joke, as in Week 3, he totaled 233 yards and 4 TDs.
He continued to have a productive season afterward, taking 103 carries for 803 yards while only playing 12 games. Achane was forced to miss 5 games due to injury, which, due to his size, was something that was worried about him coming into the NFL. Achane isn’t the only speedy RB in Miami, which adds some concern to his play time as 32-year-old Raheem Mostert and rookie Jaylen Wright will be competing with Achane for playtime.
Thankfully, head coach Mike McDaniels emphasizes a fast-moving offense, which should allow all three to see the field a decent amount. Achane may never be a workhorse, but due to his skills, all it takes is one play where his speed takes over and allows him for a huge gain. He is a solid RB2 on your roster this season, with the potential to have weeks where he almost single-handedly wins your fantasy matchup.
Our consensus projections for Achane in the 2024 season are 148 carries for 894 yards and 9 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 35 receptions for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns.
