Emari Demarcado Is A Fantasy One-Hit Wonder
For those who don’t know, Emari Demarcado is an undrafted free agent who played for the Cardinals last year. Last season Demercado got some run once James Conner went down and was solid as he put up 284 yards and 2 touchdowns on 58 carries.
Entering this season, the Cardinals have a new backup in third-round pick Trey Benson and a new full-time third-down back in Michael Carter, who was signed late last season. With Benson being added and Carter being fully integrated, it is unclear what Demercado's role will be this season.
Sure, he could be the backup to start the season as Benson works his way into the NFL, but that seems very unlikely. With such an unknown role, Demercado is not much of a viable fantasy option in any format. If he’s on waivers in a deep dynasty league, then he's worth a speculative add, but odds are he is a depth RB for the Cardinals or even another team.
Our consensus projections for Demarcado in the 2024 season are 14 carries for 83 yards and 0 rushing touchdowns. As well as 10 receptions, 64 yards, and 1 touchdown.
