Evan Engram Is A Underrated Fantasy Asset In 2024
Evan Engram epitomizes the late-career TE breakout. After having one of the best seasons we have ever seen from a rookie TE (64/722/6 TE6 overall), his next four years with the Giants were marked by disappointment and injury (he missed 15 games between 2018 and 2021 with TE finishes of TE12, TE19, TE17, TE24).
Upon arriving in Jacksonville, Engram regained the form from that first season and quickly became one of Trevor Lawrence’s favorite targets. In 2024, Engram finished as the TE2 with 114 receptions, coming within three receptions of breaking Zach Ertz’s record for most in a season by a TE.
With the addition of first-round rookie WR Brian Thomas and Gabe Davis, who signed a 3-year, 39 million deal to come to Jacksonville, there should be more competition for targets. Still, Engram's position in the offense seems secure.
Engram had almost 16% of the red-zone targets with Calvin Ridley on the team. Now, he has the most connections with Lawrence and offers the best profile for that area of the field. With some positive TD regression, Engram could compete to be the TE1 in all of fantasy, with a huge target share likely. At the very least, Engram should provide a solid floor week in and week out, especially in full-point PPR formats.
Our consensus projections for Engram in the 2024 season are 95 receptions, 931 yards, and 5 touchdowns.
