Fantasy Football Expectations From Lamar Jackson In 2024
Since taking the starting role in Baltimore, Jackson has been one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the league. For the first time in three years, Jackson did not miss any games due to injury (he only missed week 18 due to a meaningless game), which led him to win his second MVP trophy in his somewhat young career.
Jackson's biggest fantasy upside is his rushing ability. In the 23-24 season, Lamar averaged 5 carries per game (5.5 yards per carry), giving him plenty of opportunity for breakout runs. We should expect the same from him next season as well. If Lamar can get back to 6-6.5 yards per carry, we could see him with another 1000-yard rushing season.
Jackson may not be the most elite passer in the National Football League, but we know he can get the job done. Second-year wide receiver Zay Flowers may be one of the best, if not the best, Wide Receivers Lamar has had in his arsenal. As Flowers's chemistry and skill set improve, Lamar might be able to greatly improve his passing game numbers. A healthy version of Mark Andrews and a third-year breakout of Isiah Likely will also help improve Lamars' passing production.
Jackson’s TD numbers were definitely down last season, only scoring 29 total touchdowns. Adding Derrick Henry to the Ravens backfield could keep the TD numbers as low as they were. However, even with this, last season finished as QB 4, and as long he stays healthy and maintains his rushing upside, Lamar should be a top-5 QB.
Our consensus projections for Jackson in the 2024 season would be: 347 completions, 4045 yards, 27 touchdowns, 7 interceptions through the air, and 135 carries for 826 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.
