Fantasy Football Scam Artists: Week 6

Which players did you start that made your league members laugh in Fantasy Football?

Quarterbacks

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has been up and down this season but 3.22 fantasy points this past week was rock bottom. The Lions terrorized the Cowboys so there may not be a reason to freak out as the Cowboys just tried not to give up 100 points. Dak should still be a starter in fantasy and as the year goes on his schedule lightens up a bit.

Kyler Murray

This isn't exactly Kyler's fault. He finished with 11.96 fantasy points but was limited because Marvin Harrison Jr. went out with a concussion. This also added to them trailing big early taking away from fellow scam artist of the week James Conner and his ability to rush the football. Everything in Arizona starts with the run and without it, Kyler will be in a tough spot.

Geno Smith

Quarterback was a tough list to make this week of Scam Artists and that is why Geno makes an appearance. Geno threw for 312 yards, not something that should result in low points. 12.48 is not the performance we are used to from Geno but not the end of the world. Seattle and their QB will be fine they have too many weapons on offense to not put up points.

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley

Running back #1 in fantasy on the Scam Artist list? Yeah, unfortunately for Barkley, he just had an off day, averaging only 2.6 yards per carry. This was a significant drop off from the over 8 yards per carry he had averaged in the two previous games. Barkley is the last person on any team people should worry about. This figure can also partially be chalked up to Cleveland's good run defense and the fact that they kept the game close, forcing the Eagles to air it out a bit more.

James Conner

Similarly to Kyler, this isn't necessarily a Conner issue. He only received 7 carries Saturday a season low. Connor has been great this year, scoring 14+ fantasy points in 4 of 5 previous games. Look for Conner to bounce back and return to his old form against the Chargers this week.

Travis Etienne

Somehow, this is one of Etienne's first appearances on the Scam Artists list. He may end up in the running for the Scam Artist of the Year for being drafted in the 2nd round on average and losing his job by week 6. Etienne hasn't just been bad, he's been horrific. He doesn't have a 15-point game this season and has seen Tank Bigsby's role expanded week after week. This looks like his time as the starter is over and if you have him ship him off as fast as you can before you have to drop him.

Wide Receivers

Calvin Ridley

Calvin Ridley said it himself; he sucked this week. For three quarters Ridley was almost nonexistent for the Titans. He finished the day with 9 rushing yards and 0 catches. Ridley has been bad this year, which doesn't come as much of a shock to people after his repeated poor performances last year. If you have Ridley. all you can do is hope and pray he that he gets better, but the current trends say that he probably won't.

Brandon Aiyuk

30 million dollars a year. That is what the 49ers are paying Brandon Aiyuk to be this bad at football. Just a week after fantasy owners assumed Aiyuk was back with an 8-catch 147-yard day, he proves us wrong again. Aiyuk had 2 catches for 37 yards on Thursday night and had all of his owners fall flat on their faces to start the week. If you can trade him at this point for anything you should there are too many things going against Aiyuk who has one finish above 10 points this year.

DJ Moore

DJ Moore will be fine. The problem for Moore is there are a lot of weapons in Chicago. On the bright side, Moore is Caleb's favorite and when things get tough later on in the year against better competition Moore will be the go-to guy for Williams and the Bears.

Mike Evans

Mike Evans has been the definition of inconsistent this year. He has three 23-point games this year. He also has 3 games under 7.5 points. Evans is one of the best wideouts of the last decade and should continue to be. The Saints are always a trap for Evans so not much to worry about after two promising performances the weeks prior.

Tight Ends

The Tight end position is back in Fantasy this year, and that's why they are being left off this list this week. With an Injury to Goedert and bad game scripts for Jake Ferguson and Tucker Kraft, there is no real reason to highlight anyone from the position this week. The top 10 TEs drafted this year all performed well enough to not embarrass you or be the reason you lost. They will be back however because no way can Kyle Pitts and Sam Laporta stay off this list forever, especially when Laporta's only catch was a 50-yard touchdown.
