Fantasy Football Waiver Wire- Week 5:

With injuries starting to pile up and bye weeks beginning, making the right additions via free agency is important moving forward. Finding the gems in free agency is always tough, but the players below have the best shot at being important pieces for rosters from now on.

1. Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Green Bay Packers:

Wicks was everyone's favorite sleeper during drafts this year, but after a slow start to the season, he was dropped in numerous leagues. With Christian Watson injured, Wicks will see an increase in his playing time and will have the chance to break out.

After stepping for Watson last week, Wicks saw 13 targets, and with those 13 targets, Wicks had 5 catches for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. While Wicks won't see 13 targets a game, he will be a starter moving forward and when given the chance to start in the past, Wicks has produced for fantasy. Wicks also has a knack for the endzone as he has 47 catches throughout his two seasons so far, and out of those 47 catches, 7 have been touchdowns. Basically, for every seven receptions Wicks has, one is a touchdown. Wicks is a talented player who will provide immediate fantasy value as long as Watson is out. Everyone will be on in Wicks so he will be expensive as far as FAAB goes, but he is worth spending up on. Wicks is currently rostered in just 20% of Sleeper leagues.

2. Tre Tucker, WR, Las Vegas Raiders:

Tucker is coming off of back-to-back strong fantasy performances. In week three Tucker had 22.6 PPR points, and in week four Tucker had 15.4 PPR points. Tucker is a speedy wide receiver who was talked up all off-season by the Raiders staff, but he never gained any steam from a fantasy perspective. After two strong weeks, it appears Tucker may be more of a reliable fantasy asset than expected, but the recent trade rumors of Davante Adams make Tucker an intriguing target.

This morning it was reported that the Raiders have begun reaching out to other teams about a possible Adams trade, and if Adams is traded, Tucker would have a much bigger role than he does now. Tucker has electrifying speed but he is a good route runner and can be moved around on the offense. Tucker is a player who needs more touches as the season goes on and whether Adams is on or off the team he will be more involved in the offense. Tucker won't cost as much FAAB as Dontayvion Wicks, but people who believe Adams will get traded may overpay for Tucker. Don't overspend on Tucker but don't be afraid to spend up if needed as he is a talented player. Tucker is currently rostered in 19% of Sleeper leagues.

3. Xavier Legette, WR, Carolina Panthers:

The Legette breakout began last week and he should be here to stay. The Panthers first-round pick had a slow start to the season as did the rest of the team, but since the change to Andy Dalton at QB, the offense has been great. In week three Legette had just two catches for 42 yards on 3 targets, but with Adam Thielen out this past week Legette had 6 catches for 66 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 targets. Thielen will miss an extended period of time with his injury which means Legette will be the team's wide receiver two moving forward.

Legette is the type of player who just needs to ball in his hands as he is great after the catch, and without Thielen, there should be plenty of opportunity for Legette. As long as Dalton is under center for the Panthers, Legette has upside every week and is worth a pickup if available. Legette is rostered in 38% of Sleeper leagues.

4. Roschon Johnson, RB, Chicago Bears:

Johnson has had two solid weeks in a row for fantasy and there is reason to believe it will continue. For whatever reason the Bears seem to not like Khalil Herbert and despite a strong game this past week, D'Andre Swift has been disappointing this year. Johnson is a good pass protector and a solid receiver, which should lead to more work, but last week he was the team's goalline back. The Bears offense is a mess but if Johnson is going to have a floor of 8-10 points a week he is worth an add. Don't spend too much FAAB on Johnson as the Bears could go back to Herbert any week, but until that actually happens it is worth spending a small portion of FAAB. Roschon is rostered in 42% of Sleeper leagues.

5. Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints:

While everyone is talking about the players who are going to be missing time, there is a handful of players who are eligible to return from IR now that it is week five and Miller is one of them.

It is unclear when Miller will return from IR but the Saints need to work another running back into the mix to give Alvin Kamara some rest. Miller was a third-round pick last year but he missed most of his rookie year with injury. There was off-season hope that Miller could be a factor for fantasy this year but after being injured for all of camp that never came to fruition. Miller is talented and flashed in limited opportunity last year and could provide a spark to the Saints offense. Don't spend much FAAB on Miller as he may not return right away but he is worth a speculative add as he could be a factor when he returns. Miller is rostered in 14% of Sleeper leagues.
