Five Quarterbacks Who Have The Worse Chance Of Winning Super Bowl LIX

The 2024 NFL season is just only a few months away and the quest to Super Bowl LIX will begin for all 32 teams in the league. The chaos of free agency and the excitement of the 2024 NFL Draft are now in the rearview mirror and the start of training camp and preseason are just a few weeks away.

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about the five quarterbacks who have the BEST chance to win Super Bowl LIX. Now it’s time to turn the tide around. It is time to take a look at five quarterbacks who have the WORST chance of winning Super Bowl LIX.

This is not a ranking of the five worst quarterbacks in the NFL, but a ranking of which quarterback has the worst shot at winning it all. This is determined by the team's situation, schedule, conference, roster, and many other factors.

#5 Daniel Jones (New York Giants)

The Giants are in a tricky situation. After giving Daniel Jones $40M per year after he led the team to the playoffs in 2022, he only played five games last season throwing for two touchdowns and six interceptions before suffering a season-ending injury.

The front office is optimistic that Jones can be a franchise quarterback with their GM saying that Patrick Mahomes couldn’t win behind their offensive line. But that’s also saying a lot of how about how much work the entire offense needs to be a contender. While New York could improve its win total in 2024 by a few games, there’s little chance Daniel Jones will lift the Lombardi Trophy next February.

#4 Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

In my opinion, Jayden Daniels will be a top-ten quarterback within a few years. I think he has potential to lead the Commanders to the playoffs in a couple seasons. But I think that the team is not in a position to win a lot in 2024.

Washington still has an unstable offensive line despite some improvements this offseason and it’ll be tough to compete against Philadelphia and Dallas within the division. So that is why Jayden Daniels probably will not be playing football past January 2025.

#3 Bo Nix (Denver Broncos)

The Broncos are now entering a rebuild after their Russell Wilson era was a massive disappointment. After trading Jerry Jeudy, the receiving room is one of the weaker groups in the NFL behind Courtland Sutton and the offensive line is still under construction.

With only 13 wins in two seasons, it’s unlikely that the Broncos will be a top contender this season especially with Kansas City in the division. Even if Bo Nix has a CJ Stroud-type rookie season, it likely won’t lead Denver to a Super Bowl at least this year.

#2 Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)

The Bryce Young era started off horribly as the Panthers finished 2-15 and didn’t even have a first-round pick due to the trade with Chicago. That wasn’t Young’s fault as Carolina’s offensive line was one of the worst in the league and the team had little to no run game and limited options to throw to.

While the team added Dionte Johnson to give Young support and spent a lot of money on the offensive line, Carolina is still years away from competing and it’s not the year that the Super Bowl champions will be from Charlotte.

#1 Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

The New England Patriots have a good defense, but the number one reason why Drake Maye won’t win the Super Bowl is due to the lack of weapons in New England. The team did draft a few studs at receiver in April and the offensive line should be solid, but it’ll take a lot for the Patriots to improve from their 4-13 record last season.

New England is currently the favorite to have the first-overall pick in next year’s draft and will play in a division with three possible playoff teams. It’s very unlikely that the navy and silver will win their seventh Super Bowl trophy in 2025. But don’t worry Drake Maye, the future is just starting.
