Gabe Davis Is The Definition Of A Boom/Bust Fantasy Option

Gabe Davis is the type of player who always gets hyped up every year in fantasy football. Last season, he had a really solid year, yet it was kind of a disappointment that he didn't improve or have a consistent presence in Buffalo’s offense.

Davis has been in the league for 4 years paired with Josh Allen, and he has finishes of WR54, WR52, WR27, and WR40 in half-PPR. This past year was fine statistically for Davis, who was targeted 81 times and made 45 receptions for 746 yards and 7 touchdowns. Gabe had 4 WR finishes and 1 high-end WR2 finish (WR14, WR8, WR9, WR8, WR12), which seems great, but he also had 5 weeks with 0 points, and in the other 6 weeks, he combined for 33.96 points, averaging 5.66 points a game.

Davis departed the Bills in the offseason because the team did not have the cap space to bring him back. He was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year contract. Davis has potential with the change of scenery, and while he will likely be behind Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas Jr., he will likely get more targets.

Kirk always has durability issues, and Thomas could experience some growing pains during his rookie season. It will be frustrating having him on the roster due to his inconsistent play, but he could be a sneaky depth option in fantasy if the matchup and situation are right. He's definitely a solid choice to make in later rounds of fantasy drafts.

Our consensus projections for Davis in the 2024 season are 43 receptions, 670 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
