Giants-Texans Week Ten Injury Report: Did The Bye Week Heal These Fierce Competitors?

The Giants are coming out of a much-needed bye week in week nine, and it was a chance for players who have been “giving it all on the field” to recover from in-game injuries. Heading into week eight’s game, the Giants had ruled out six players, including three starters: right tackle Evan Neal (knee), right guard Ben Bredeson (knee), and tight end Daniel Bellinger (eye).

Let’s take a look at their injury report and the status of each player. During week eight’s game additionally added, defensive lineman Nick Williams (bicep) left the game and was ruled out against Seattle. Wide receiver Richie James was also ruled out with a concussion. With the list of injured players heading into the bye week, fans were relieved they had a chance to recover before hitting the field again.

The Giants practiced Wednesday and Friday but did not practice on Thursday. With Daboll calling for a day off on Thursday, some participation was a tentative projection, yet the final reporting was unaffected.

However, the good news is that he told the media this Tuesday that he continues to improve in his recovery. There was some worry after his injury that we wouldn’t see him until 2023. Thankfully this does not appear to be the case.

Will Cor’Dale Flott be ruled out for a sixth straight week? He remains listed as questionable heading into week ten, or will we continue seeing an increased role in Flott’s absence?

Golladay has been out with a knee injury since Weeks Four win over the Chicago Bears. However, head coach Brian Daboll stated he is “optimistic” that Golladay will be ready to go in Week Ten. With the Giants’ not making a move for a receiver at the trade deadline, all eyes will be on Golladay’s potential return.

Oshane Ximines (quadriceps) may return in Week Ten, general manager Joe Schoen said on Wednesday, November 2nd. He had been ruled out for two straight contests due to a quadriceps injury he suffered during the team’s Week Six win over Baltimore. James suffered a concussion during the Giants’ Week eight loss at Seattle, but with the benefit of the team’s Week Nine bye, he’s recovered in advance of Sunday’s game against the Texans. However, after losing two punts in week eight and the Giants auditioning for that position during this week’s practice, the question is no longer can he play; it’s will he play? Marcus Johnson was added to the injury report (thumb) but didn’t get a designation, so he’ll play week ten against the Texans. The Giants are coming out of a much-needed bye week as a chance to recover for players who have been leaving it all on the field. The question and concern ahead of week ten is; are they prepared adequately against the Texans’ running game, as led by Dameon Pierce? Their injury news heading in the right direction indicates a fiercely competitive game in week ten. And that’s… “The Lex Of It”
