Here's Where Russell Wilson Will Play in 2024

After the Denver Bronco's blockbuster trade deal in 2022 to acquire future Hall-Of-Fame quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, many thought Denver finally found its franchise quarterback for the first time since Peyton Manning.

But the deal has gone wrong ever since as Wilson and the Broncos have missed the playoffs both seasons and finished with a losing record. Now Wilson has been benched (due to contract, not performance) and the team is expected to go in a different direction. Here are three realistic landing spots for Wilson.

Pittsburgh Steelers

I wrote last week about how Kirk Cousins would fit perfectly in the Steel City, and so could Wilson. The Steelers have a roster good enough to win a Super Bowl and have had little of the quarterback position. Wilson would have playmakers in George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth along with an elite defense as well as coaching legend Mike Tomlin. Russell Wilson could lead the Stairway To Seven.

Seattle Seahawks

Maybe this one is not as realistic, but why not. After leaving Seattle, could Russ come back home? When he was traded, the Seahawks were expected to go into a rebuild, but that trade has given Seattle stars in defensive back Devon Witherspoon, edge Boye Mafe, and tackle Charles Cross. Although Geno Smith has been serviceable, Seattle could have a shot at the Super Bowl with Russ back in town.

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have it all: a promising, electric running back, explosive weapons, a solid line, and one of the better defenses in the NFL. They are just missing a quarterback. The Falcons could look to add Russell Wilson, as he can help the Atlanta offense blossom. Desmond Ridder struggled this season, and the weapons were never used like they should. But with Wilson, the Falcons could win a weak NFC South and have enough power to compete with the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Lions. Russ to the ATL just makes sense.
