How Many Finalists Do The Philadelphia Phillies Have For The 2024 All-Star Game?
The Philadelphia Phillies are one of the hottest teams in all of baseball. This has brought plenty of attention around the league and the team could have the most representatives they have sent to the annual MLB All-Star game in a very long time. Let's take a look at who their finalists are. Fans have just a few more days to vote.
One Phillies Player Is Already An All-Star
First baseman Bryce Harper is the National League's first All-Star for being the top vote getter. Unfortunately, he has recently joined the 10-day injured list, so it remains to be seen if he will suit up for the midsummer classic.
Harper has been remarkable despite it being his first season playing at first base. His .305 batting average, .402 on-base percentage, and 20 home runs have earned him his eighth career All-Star selection. Notably, he becomes the first Phillies player to win the fan vote at first base since John Kruk in 1993.
There Are Six Other Finalists
Alec Bohm:
Third baseman Alex Bohm has been a pleasant surprise for the Phillies. His consistent hitting and solid defense have made him a fan favorite. With 3,175,134 votes, he should find a way to get an All-Star spot.
Trea Turner:
The Phillies shortstop could make his third ever All-Star appearance and first as a Phillie. He is hitting over .300 this season and playing good defense. The only knock against him is he has not been available every game due to injuries.
Brandon Marsh:
Marsh’s power and defensive skills make him a valuable asset. He’s vying for an outfield spot in the All-Star lineup. The third-year Phillie and former Los Angeles Angel is trying to make his first appearance in the All-Star game.
J. T. Realmuto:
Realmuto, a perennial All-Star, continues to impress behind the plate. His leadership and offensive contributions are essential for the Phillies. It could be his fourth appearance in the mid-summer classic.
Nick Castellanos:
Another Phillies outfielder trying to get in has been having a down year. So far, he's batting .231 with 11 home runs. Castellanos likely won't get in for his stats but is a popular player among the fans.
Kyle Schwarber:
Schwarber’s left-handed power has energized the Phillies’ lineup. Fans hope to see their designated hitter represent the team. He isn't putting up spectacular numbers but is batting a respectable .250 with 17 home runs.
July 3rd at noon eastern time is when voting ends, so Philadelphia fans need to vote now to get as many representatives in Arlington as possible.
