Four Interesting Trade Partners For Justin Fields

In a blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers, the Panthers traded up for the #1 pick in the 2023 draft. As part of the deal, they gave up this year's first-round pick and a host of other picks, including wide receiver D.J. Moore. The Panthers' first-round pick in 2024 became the first overall pick in the draft.

The Bears organization is currently facing a major decision this off-season. They have to choose whether to keep Justin Fields or draft Caleb Williams. In this article, we will assume that the Bears are planning to select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which means they will move off Justin Fields.

Let's discuss the potential teams that could be landing spots for Justin Fields.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been struggling with inconsistent quarterback play and injury issues with Kenny Pickett. Unfortunately, they don't have a high enough draft pick to select one of the top signal callers in the upcoming draft. Therefore, the Steelers might look for alternatives, such as acquiring a new quarterback through free agency or trading. Justin Fields, a former first-rounder, offers a higher potential than Pickett and the Steelers offense could be interested in trading for him.

Las Vegas Raiders

In short, Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell are not the solution to the Raiders' quarterback problems. Now that the Raiders have decided to move forward with former interim head coach Antonio Pierce, he may want to make a big trade for a new quarterback to leave his mark on the team's roster. Interestingly, the Raiders interviewed Luke Getsy, Fields' former offensive coordinator. It is unclear whether the interview was genuine or a tactic to gain information on Fields.

Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith had an outstanding season in 2022, throwing for career-highs of 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns. However, in 2023, his performance decreased significantly, with fewer yards and touchdowns. He is currently 33 years old, and his career may not last much longer. At the time of writing, the Seahawks have not appointed a new head coach after firing their long-time head coach Pete Carroll. With a new coach in charge, they might consider a younger and a new quarterback.

Atlanta Falcons

It is believed that among the teams that require a quarterback, the Falcons are the most suitable. This is because the Falcons need a quarterback who is not only capable of making plays with his arm but also with his legs, which is exactly what Justin Fields can do. However, one of Fields' weaknesses is that he tends to hold onto the ball for too long. But the Falcons have one of the best offensive lines in the league, so this weakness may not be a major concern. Additionally, Fields would have the opportunity to work with talented playmakers in the Falcons offense.
