Injury Report: Can Colts Overcome Key Injuries?

It’s a short week for the Indianapolis Colts as they prepare for their Week Five Thursday Night Football matchup against the Denver Broncos. Due to the short week, the Colts will be without two key players.

The Colts (1-2-1) are coming off a 24-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. They head into a short week as they prepare to take on the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. There were some key losses that may hinder the Colts. Linebacker Shaquille Leonard and defensive end Tyquan Lewis have already been ruled out with concussions. Running back Jonathan Taylor is dealing with an ankle sprain and mild turf toe.

No Shaquille Leonard (concussion) for the #Colts on Thursday night and possibly no Jonathan Taylor, whose X-rays and MRI were clean, but is now dealing with an ankle sprain in addition to mild turf toe. 4. Center Ryan Kelly/knee was listed as a limited participant. Kelly played on Sunday, but is still dealing with a knee issue that held him out of practice last Tuesday

  2. Center Ryan Kelly/knee and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner/elbow were both full participants

  3. Safety Julian Blackmon/ankle missed practice again. He is dealing with an ankle sprain that he suffered against the Chiefs. (With him missing all of last season from a torn Achilles, the team will definitely want to be cautious.)

  4. Running back Jonathan Taylor/ankle missed another practice, but is trying to get his treatment in with hopes of being out there with the team on Thursday night

Taylor said on Tuesday, “I definitely plan to play, but if you can’t go you can’t go. That’s why you gotta get as much treatment as you can.”

Frank Reich said, “From what I understand, from the discussions I’ve had with the doctors and our trainers, further injury is not a concern at this point.”
