Isiah Pacheco Offers Incredible Upside For Fantasy
Isiah Pacheco is on the best offense in football, playing with the best quarterback and play-caller in the game. The Chiefs didn't bring in any veteran replacements, Jerrick McKinnon is still unsigned, and CEH is just a backup. Pacheco runs like he's angry at the ground; he is as consistent as they come, with only 5 finishes worse than an RB2, and offers upside with 6 RB1 (RB12, RB6, RB11, RB4, RB8, RB2) finishes as well. Isiah came aboard as a 7th round pick and beat out former first round pick CEH.
Last year was his breakout season. Typically, three three after a year-two breakout is a player's best season. There should be an increase in playtime and touches since he has passed every test a running back needs to. He averages 4.7 yards a carry, has a 90.5% catch rate, can pass block, and has a nose for the endzone. Kansas City has one of the best offensive lines in football, along with the other excellent pieces that facilitate an RB1 season.
This is a complete offense that will be nearly impossible to predict, but it should give Pacheco a much easier front to run against. He almost is the forgotten piece, with Mahomes, Kelce, Rice, Hollywood and Worthy terrifying defensive coordinators, after this season people will have an updated view on Pacheco after this year.
His ADP is at 58, which is such a value compared to the other top backs that it's not even fair. Yes, he is 25, but he does not have a ton of mileage yet. Dynasty should be played in 3-year windows. Pacheco has just as good of a shot of being an elite option in the position as anyone else. Targeting him in the between the 5-6th round is a very smart move in superflex leagues, in one QB leagues the 3-4th rounds is a great spot for him as well.
Our consensus projections for Pacheco in the 2024 season are 250 carries for 1,224 yards and 10 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 48 receptions for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns.
