J.K. Dobbins Has Yet Another Chance At Fantasy Relevance

J.K Dobbins signed a one-year “prove it” deal with the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason worth $1.6M. Dobbins has shown RB1 potential, but unfortunately, injuries have stunted his production and ability to stay on the field. He has yet to complete a full season, including missing the entire 2021 season and missing almost the entire season last year due to another season-ending injury.

Familiar faces brought in Dobbins, as new General Manager Joe Hortiz was part of that Baltimore front office that drafted him in 2020. He goes from one Harbaugh to another, but there's still the philosophy of establishing a solid run game. Jim Harbaugh has already emphasized his obsession with the importance of the offensive line, and he's already begun implementing that.

Assuming Dobbins stays healthy this year, he could be one of the best talents at his current value. There's no question the talent is there; it's just a matter of if he can stay healthy and stay afloat on the depth chart, which currently includes potential rookie sleeper Kimani Vidal and familiar teammate Gus Edwards.

Our consensus projections for Dobbins in the 2024 season are 78 carries for 472 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. As well as 10 receptions, 65 yards, and 1 touchdown.
