Jake Ferguson Has Sneaky Upside For Fantasy In 2024

Last season, Jake Ferguson emerged as the second option in a very pass-heavy, high-scoring Dallas offense. Ferguson had 21 more targets than the WR2 Brandin Cook and led all TEs in red zone targets with 25. He finished his season with an extremely consistent 71/761/5 stat line. He only finished outside the top 24 for three weeks and had 10 top-12 finishes on the season.

With the Dallas offense not bringing in any significant target competition and the RB room looking mediocre at best, look for Ferguson to once again be a favorite target, especially in the red zone, where targets are so valuable. While he only had four weeks as a top-six TE, he likely provides a very safe floor with an established role in such a potent offense.

One of the most enticing things about Ferguson is that the last time we saw him, he went for 93 yards and 3 TDs in a playoff loss to the Packers. While this may be a bit of an aberration based on the game script, it surely gains him more trust from head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott.

Our consensus projections for Ferguson in the 2024 season are 81 receptions, 888 yards, and 7 touchdowns.
