Jalen Reagor Is Heading To Minnesota
After a grueling two seasons in Philadelphia, Jalen Reagor is being traded to the Vikings. He will join a notable star wide receiver who was selected just one spot after him, Justin Jefferson. The Vikings are sending a 2023 7th-round pick and a 2023 4th-round pick that can fall to a 5th-round selection depending on certain statistical marks.
Jalen Reagor made the roster after the team was cut down to an official 53-man squad at 4 P.M. on August 30th. There was speculation about trade throughout the day, but nothing was done until now. This could be the break Jalen Reagor needs in his career.
In 28 career games, Reagor has a horrific 64 catches, 695 yards, and three touchdowns. While this is solid for a depth WR who was drafted late, this is unacceptable for a player the Eagles took 21st overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. His new teammate Justin Jefferson totaled over 700 yards in just ten career games. That could be good for Reagor’s growth watching that firsthand or very detrimental watching someone from his class be leaps and bounds ahead of him.
The expectations coming out of TCU were not met by the young WR. Reagor was the big guy at TCU notching some All BIG-12 teams but fell flat on his face in the NFL. The Eagles have the luxury of two elite wide receivers in Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown. They also have the depth with Quez Watkins and Zach Pascal. This trade also potentially opens the door for some of the WRs who were released yesterday.
Jalen Reagor will return to Lincoln Financial Field in Week Two, September 19th, 8:30 P.M. EST. The first primetime game for the Eagles will be a loud one. Look for loud boos from the crowd when Reagor steps onto the field.
