Jaylen Wright Has A Salivating Fantasy Profile & Landing Spot
Jaylen Wright was a fascinating prospect for fantasy. Then he got drafted by the Dolphins, the best team to maximize his value, but they have Mostert and Achane ahead of him on the depth chart. Wright spent three years in Tennessee, where he accrued 368 carries for 2297 yards (6.2 yards per attempt) and 18 touchdowns. He wasn't a big factor in the passing game (just 30 receptions for 171 yards and no touchdowns), but he is capable of it, especially with his big play ability.
Wright had an elusive rating of 132.2 and gained 4.35 yards after contact, both extremely high and pointing to explosive traits. Another indication of this is that in just 2023, Wright had 19 carries of 15+ yards. The Dolphins had the RB5 and the RB24 overall, and both players have had a history of missing games, which could lead Wright being featured in one of the most potent offenses in the NFL (1st in passing yards 265.5 per game, 6th in rushing yards 135.8 per game and 1st in total yards 401.3 per game, 3rd in points per game 27.9).
Once Mostert retires or leaves the Dolphins, Wright and Achane will frighten defensive coordinators and delight fantasy managers. Miami lost guard Robert Hunt in free agency, which will hurt some of their efficiency in the run game.
Wright's ADP on Sleeper Dynasty Superflex is the 141st player off the board, which is decent value, but there are other young contributors around him at that spot. He has been going in the back end of the second round in rookie drafts, which is worth the risk due to his potential. Wright should be a waiver wire priority in case one of the other two backs gets hurt.
Our consensus projections for Wright in the 2024 season are 66 carries for 489 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. As well as 15 receptions, 85 yards, and 1 touchdown.
