Jets Chaos: Shocking The World With a 100% Accurate 53-Man Roster Prediction For The Jets!

With the 80 man roster days away from dropping to 53 man roster, a lot of Jets fans are wondering who will make the roster and who is on the chopping block. Well worry no more. The 53-man roster is right here in advance for you. I decided to share my predictions which are hard to not refer to as guarantees of exactly how all this will pan out. Make sure you check back again after the 53 is officially announced to confirm ability as a Jets prognasticator.

3 Quarterbacks

Now this might change when Zach is healthy, but for right now the Jets need to keep 3 on the active roster. Zach Wilson is the obvious choice as the QB1, the only question is “When does he get back on the field?”

The QB2 is obviously Joe Flacco. Flacco has had a great camp. He has a Superbowl ring. ANd he is the perfect veteran presence in a room and on a team full of young players. They may as well name him pops.

The QB3 is the one that is a bit more controversial. But make no mistake. The Jets are not dropping Mike White because a relative unknown played well against opposition that will likely be out of the NFL next week. The Jets might try to slip Chris Streveler through waivers and stick him on the practice squad. Mike White makes the roster for now.

5 Running Backs

Breece Hall and Michael Carter will be sharing the bulk of the carries for the Jets in 2022. This is no secret to anyone. With a little bit of help from the offensive line and others, they may prove to be the best running back duo in the NFL.

The team will want a veteran running back on the roster. That is where Tevon Coleman comes in. This will probably his last year with the Jets, but still has some gas left in the tank. More importantly, Tevon is locker room fit that the organization can count on to help out the younger kids in running back room.

The next spot in the room will go to the player with the most upside, Zonovan Knight. The kid has skills returning kick offs and has played well at came and shown explosiveness. There is no way he makes it past waivers to stash on the practice squad.

Nick Bawden will take the final spot. Ths offense shines with a fullback. Nick did a great job last year and dramatically improved the running game. Mike LeFleur will put foot his foot down on this one.

5 Wide Receivers

The top 4 receivers are very obvious and for good reason. Corey Davis begins the second year of his contract which is fuly guaranteed. Elijah Moore is about to begin his second year and is expected to explode in NFL stardom. Garret Wilson was the number 10 overall pick in the draft and already delivering on high expectations in training camp. Braxton Berrios was just re-signed to a contract friendly 2-year deal.

The battle is for the fifth and final spot. I do not believe the team will be able to keep 6 at this position. While Denzel Mims has requested a trade, I will proceed under the assumption he is not moved by the time the final cuts are announced. For that reason I believe the Jets surprise everyone and cut Jeff Smith. There is a possibility he is quickly re-signed if Mims is moved.

4 Tight Ends

The Jets will have to slim down somewhere else on the roster because they need 4 tight ends on the roster. Mike LeFleur runs a lot of 21 and 22 personnel and the team will need to load up here. Clearly CJ Uzomah, Tyler Conklin, and Jeremy Ruckert will be on the final roster. The challenge is who stays and make sthe final spot in the room.

This is the year that Lawrence Cage finally makes the squad. His abilities as a reciever also allows him to serve as WR6 in case of injuries. Unfortunately that means we must expose Kenny Yeboah on the waiver list again, before getting him on to the practice squad. I think we have a good chance to keep him in that capacity.

4 Offensive Tackles

There will not be much here that will surprise anyone. Duane Brown and George Fant are the clear starters. Both players are roven commodities and the Jets can feel secure they know what they are getting with both players.

Conor McDermott, Max Mitchell, and Chuma Edoga battle it out for the final 2 spots. Max is not going anywhere being a 4th round pick in the latest draft unleass he totally flopped in camp. According to Robert Salah, he did not dissapoint.

While Conor had a nice touchdown last season, it will not save him from being a cut this year. While Chuma is nothing to get to thrilled about, he is better than Conor and will make the team unless Joe Douglas makes one final move for a swing tackle. Not likely to happen before the final cuts.

5 Interior Lineman

This is the easiest position to predict. Connor McGovern, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Laken Tomlinson, Nate Herbig, and Dan Feeney are the obvious choices. Feeney has versatility and can play guard of center. Nate Herbig is a very solid guard that can be relied upon to play for long stretches at a time if needed, There is really nobody in camp pushing any of the guys in this room.

5 Defensive Ends

Carl Lawson, John Franklin Myers, and Jermaine Johnson are the obvious 3 to make the roster just based on thier contracts and draft position, as well as their excellent skill sets.

Jacob Martin and Bryce Huff will make the roster as well. Martin was a very quiet pick up this off season in spite of a having a good year for the Texans last season. His skill sets are a perfect fit for this system and I would not be surrised to see him put up some nice sack and pressure numbers this season. Bryce Huff is a good young player with a lot of potential to get better. If anything, he could be traded. But the Jets will not simply trade him.

Vinny Curry will be an unfortunate casualty as well. He is a great locker room guy and a solid verteran but ther eis simply no room on the roster for him. Hopefully he gets picked up somewhere else. Hopefully Bradlee Anae clears waivers and we can stash him on our practice squad. He has won over a lot of Jets fans this summer.

Not sure if the #Jets carry 9 or 10 DL, but I hope these 10 stick on the 53: -Quinnen Williams -Carl Lawson -Jermaine Johnson -JFM -Michael Clemons -Jacob Martin -Sheldon Rankins -Solomon Thomas -Bryce Huff -Bradlee Anae — Cali (@CaliJets) August 26, 2022

4 Defensive Lineman

Quinnen Williams is the obvious lock. We all know he is not going anywhere. He is the star. He is our man in the middle. But who will join him? Michael Clemons was drafted as an edge but will make the roster as defensive tackle. It does not mean he won’t play the edge at times, he will play in multiple spots. It’s Michael Clemons, he will play wherever he wants.

That leaves 2 pots and a difficult decision for the coaching staff. In the end the Jets will save some money and cut Sheldon Rankins. They will keep Solomon Thomas and Jonathan Marshall. Thomas knows the system and is a known entity by his former coach in Robert Salah, and Jonathan Marshall has a higher cieling than jorney man Tanzel Smart. Smart played well this off season and may be someone we try to stash on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

5 Linebackers

There is no question CJ Mosley, Kwon Alexander and Quincy Williams will make this roster. Mosley is a lock because of his skill and his enormous guaranteed salary. He is the leader of this room as well. Kwon Alexander was a nice pick u fr the Jets. He knows the defense and will hit the ground running. Quincy has some really nice upside if he rids himself of the mental errors and plays smart football.

Jamien Sherwood was a question mark after doing little last year and tearing his achillies when camp started. But Robert Salah’s faith in this young man never waivered. Not only was Jamien healthy and back to full speed, but he put together a great training camp and has looked solid all summer. He could develop into a very good starter in the future.

Hamsah Nasirildeen will win the final spot over Marcell Harris by the smallest of margins. It will be his contribution on special teams and upside that get him on to the roster over Harris, It was a close battle, and it will not be an easy decision.

6 Cornerbacks

DJ Reed, Ahmad Gardner, Bryce Hall, Bradin Echols, Michael Carter II, and Javelin Guidry. This is a no brainer for the staff and the easiest room to decide on. I am sure Joe Douglas is hoping guys like Dunn and Wildgoose clear waivers, and join the practice squad. This is a very deep room this summer and these guys can develop in to solid players, but this is a numbers game, and it is not always kind.

For Justin Hardee this is the end of the road. The team can no longer use up a spot for a gunner that can’t really play a position.

4 Safeties

Jordan Whitehead, Lamarcus Joyner, Jason Pinnock, and Ashtyn Davis will make up the safety room for the team this season. THe only tough decision here is what to do with Will Parks. I am sure they will try to get him on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

There is a chance Parks makes the final roster if Davis ends up being traded before the deadline is due for final roster cuts. Davis was popular coming out of college and might still have some value for another team. We will have to wait and see on that one.

3 on Special Teams

Greg Zuerlein– has aleday won the job in a tight battle with Eddy Pineiro.

Braden Mann– Never a doubt.

Thomas Hennessy– Our staple at long snapper
