Jimmy Haslam's New Purchase Could Lead The Browns Out Of Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns have been one of these teams in the mix for a new stadium for a while now, and a significant news bomb dropped on Thursday morning that could be leading to a new stadium for the Browns.
This new land is in Brook Park, Ohio, about a 19-minute drive from Cleveland.
The Browns needed either a new stadium or upgrades to their original stadium. Last Spring, there were plans from the city of Cleveland to upgrade the current Browns stadium beginning in 2026. The Browns' lease is up at their current stadium in 2028, and now there is a perfect chance that the Browns' stadium will not be getting an upgrade and will be getting an entirely new stadium by the time their lease is up in 2028.
The Browns currently have the 12th oldest stadium in the league, which opened in 1999, the same year the Nissan Stadium opened up in Tennessee for the Titans.
The Titans have already been working on a new stadium and have plans to open one by 2026 or 2027.
The Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills have also been in the talks of building new stadiums in the next five to ten years, and why not let Jimmy Haslam be able to get in the mix and open his own?
This move would bring the Browns out of Downtown Cleveland, so the city could take a hit from people not going down there over ten times a year and spending money for food, parking, hotels, and many other things.
I think Browns fans should be thrilled about getting a new stadium that will most likely bring a dome and could be used 365 days a year for concerts, final fours, the Super Bowl, and many other significant events.
