Jrue Holiday Is Already Making His Mark On The Boston Celtics

Training camp is underway for the new-look Celtics in 2023, and the newest edition, Jrue Holiday, is already making an incredibly positive impression on his Boston teammates.

Jrue Holiday Is Fitting In Well

Not many people have scrutinized the trade acquiring Jrue Holiday and adding him to an already loaded Boston Celtics roster. That's not gonna change today. He's undoubtedly a great fit for a team that already seemed to be missing Marcus Smart. A game hasn't been played yet, but something has felt off in the Celtics building without his presence.

Holiday arrived Sunday night and was one of the first ones in the building the next morning for media day. Unable to practice Tuesday, Holiday got his first reps with his new squad on Wednesday and he dominated, according to Al Horford.

Boston was Holiday's preferred destination when he became aware that the Trail Blazers might trade him. It's fair to say that he's enjoyed the few days he's had and feels very welcomed. Despite the criticism that's been thrown towards Boston fans in the past, Holiday mentioned that he appreciates the passion of the fanbase.

General Manager Brad Stevens has said nothing but good things about Holiday. He appreciates his work ethic, and defensive prowess while stating that he's wanted to acquire Holiday for a long time. He couldn't even keep the smile off his face. Stevens has constructed this roster exactly how he wants it. Now it's time to see it on the court.

A Chip On His Shoulder

After winning a championship in Milwaukee and being respected as one of the important pieces on that team, Holiday wanted to retire as a Buck. They had other plans. While Holiday is not someone who shows hate or disgust toward anyone, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he wants revenge. He wants to win another championship, and he's excited about the challenge in Boston.

In his few discussions with head coach Joe Mazzulla, Holiday has learned what he is being asked of and what needs to happen for this team to succeed. He's the only man on this roster with a championship ring, so his pedigree should earn him respect immediately. The excitement at the Auerbach Center was at an all-time high this week. Jrue Holiday is poised to be a leader and the piece that could put Boston over the top this year.
