Kansas City Chiefs Sign Former Pro Bowler In A Crazy Reunion
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off back-to-back Super Bowl victories, and they will welcome back a familiar face when they open up their 2024 season on Thursday, September 5th, against the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Chiefs are expected to sign former Pro Bowl wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster.
Juju Smith-Schuster spent the 2022 campaign in Kansas City, recording 78 catches for 933 yards and three scores and helping the team win Super Bowl LVII.
The 27-year-old wide receiver spent last season with the New England Patriots and was released during training camp a few weeks ago.
Smith-Schuster spent his first five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was named to the 2018 Pro Bowl, but things fell off big-time in the Steel City after he and former star wide receiver Antonio Brown got into heated arguments.
The veteran wide receiver is more known for his TikTok dances than he is for a football player, and that rubs some teams, coaches, and players the wrong way. With the tiny production he puts up, teams try to avoid his services.
It doesn't hurt for Kansas City to add Smith-Schuster and see how it goes. The Chiefs need some help at the wide receiver position, and if Smith-Schuster turns out to be an average player, then the Chiefs have an excellent little addition they weren't counting on this season.
