Kansas City Chiefs Star Expected To Miss Week 1
The Kansas City Chiefs will be missing a star player when they take the field Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Wide receiver Marquese “Hollywood” Brown will miss Week 1. The former Ravens first-round pick signed with the Chiefs this off-season after spending the last two seasons with the Cardinals.
Hollywood Brown Set To Miss Season Opener
The cousin of former Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, Hollywood hasn’t lived up to his potential entering his sixth season in the NFL. The former Sooner has hit 500+ yards in each season but has hit the century mark only once. He has also dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career.
Hollywood Brown, who spent the last two games of 2023 on injured reserve because of a heel injury, dislocated a joint in his left shoulder in the Chiefs first preseason game earlier this month. The good news is that head coach Andy Reid says that Brown is progressing really well. He will most likely be week-to-week with a return soon.
Without Hollywood Brown, the Chiefs signed former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster after his release from the New England Patriots earlier this week. The team is expected to roll with 2023 second-round pick Rashee Rice, speedy rookie Xavier Worthy, Smith-Schuster, and the spectacular tight end Travis Kelce as quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ top weapons.
The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs will battle on Thursday September 5th at Arrowhead Stadium. The game will air on NBC with kickoff set for 8:20PM. The Chiefs will look to avoid losing back-to-back season openers.
