Kendre Miller Should Improve His Fantasy Value If Healthy
Kendre Miller will be an intriguing name this fantasy season. Kendre Miller is currently listed as RB2 on the Saints' 2024 depth chart. Alvin Kamara will still be the RB1 (for this season), but there has been speculation that Kendre will now see increased touches this season. He only had 51 touches last season, so that should not be too hard. In those 51 touches, he carried the ball for 3.8 yards per carry.
That seems subpar, but that is despite a lack of rhythm and an offensive line that left much to be desired, especially in the run game. The Saints lost offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk for the season, but they have also added one of the best offensive line prospects in the draft this April in Taliese Fuaga. Not only that, but they have brought in a new offensive coordinator who successfully installed a successful run game with Klint Kubiak.
Aside from Left Guard Nick Saldiveri, the entire offensive line comprises top 65 picks, so there is talent there. Kendre showed us what he could do with increased touches when he had 13 carries for 73 yards (5.62 yards per carry) and ran in a touchdown. I don't know how far Kendre will go in 2024, but he has a promising case of seeing more than 51 touches this season, barring injuries.
Speaking of which, Head Coach Dennis Allen confirmed that Miller is dealing with hamstring issues at the start of training camp, so that is something to keep an eye on. Lower body injuries don't bode well for running backs.
Our consensus projections for Miller in the 2024 season are 115 carries for 498 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. As well as 18 receptions, 153 yards, and 1 touchdown.
