Kendrick Bourne Has Weekly Fantasy Upside If Healthy
Kendrick Bourne was considered to be one of the big sleepers in fantasy football last season. It looked like Bourne would have a strong season, but then he Tore his ACL midseason. In the eight games he played, he had 55 targets, 37 receptions, 406 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns. In one of the worst passing offenses in the league, Bourne had two top-10 and one top-15 fantasy finish in the first eight weeks he played last season.
With Kendrick Bourne’s injury happening mid-season, there is a big chance Bourne will not be ready for the first few weeks of the season. He recently got put on the PUP list. It also doesn't help that the Patriots added talent during the offseason. Not only did they sign K.J. Osborn, but the Patriots also drafted Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker in the draft.
With DeMario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster on the roster, the receiver room will be crowded. That's not even getting into the tight ends on the roster. Bourne could be a nice pickup on the waiver wire later in the season, but he shouldn't be drafted unless you want to stash him in your roster or injury designations, depending on how your fantasy league operates.
Our consensus projections for Bourne in the 2024 season are 33 receptions, 410 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
