Louisville Takes Care Of Business After Long Layoff

Louisville basketball faced in-city opponent Bellarmine on Tuesday night. After a slow start, the Cards turned it on and never looked back. Here are some takeaways from the game.

Bounce Back

The Louisville Cardinals returned to the court after a 10-day layoff. Louisville faced off against the Bellarmine Knights and handled business, winning terrifically, 100-68.

Louisville Vs. Bellarmine Analysis

Louisville came out against their across-town foe flat, definitely not looking like the team we were accustomed to seeing. Bellarmine stuck around until around 10 minutes left in the first half, cutting it to a three-point lead.

Following that, the Cards would never look back and cruise to a 48-27 halftime score. Louisville would eventually get lackluster on the defensive side of the ball after Bellarmine’s relentless off-ball movement.

Bellarmine cut the Louisville lead to 15 with a little over 10 minutes left in the second half after an 11-0 run from the Knights. Louisville eventually hit some shots and woke up on the defensive end to run away with the game.

Overall, the Cards played a very impressive game. The team worked hard, and 32 points came from the bench, with Kasean Pryor accounting for 21 of those. Terrence Edwards led the way in scoring with an impressive 26-point game.

What's Next?

The Cards will face Winthrop on Friday for the final game of the four-game homestand. Following Winthrop, Louisville will travel to the Bahamas for Battle 4 Atlantis, where it will face Indiana.
