Matthew Stafford's Wife Apologizes For Her Comments

Look, I said it before, and I am going to say it again. Writing articles that delve into the personal lives of athletes is challenging for me, as I respect their privacy and choose to focus on their athletic achievements. However, the only reason I am writing this is because not a lot of people have covered her apology of this incident and I originally reported on this a few days ago.

Kelly Stafford made a controversial statement on a podcast, claiming she flirted with Stafford's backup quarterback in college to incite jealousy in Matthew. This led to a barrage of criticism, with the situation escalating to an unpleasant level. While Kelly may only have herself to blame, the comments directed at her became excessively harsh.

Kelly realized the damage that was done, and she decided to make a post apologizing for her actions and including to Joe Cox the man who she dated in that story. The post to her apology is down below.

Here's the thing, it is commendable that she apologized and is taking accountability of her actions. It is never easy doing that, and it is a step in the right direction that she did that. However, I don't believe her apology one bit. If she was truly sorry, then why did she also decide to make this post below on her Instagram.

After reading that, does it sound like she is sorry for her actions at all? Especially after that first sentence, which was really telling. "It was comical how things were twisted", what are you talking about, you're the one that twisted this whole thing to begin with. Especially by gleefully and voluntarily revealing for years that you emotionally manipulated men to get with Stafford.

It all feels like she is only sorry because of the bad media attention that she and Matthew got. She on one hand says sorry, but on the other hand would not regret emotionally manipulating a man. By the way that post she made on Instagram was not even 20 minutes before she originally posted her apology to Joe Cox. That is something that shouldn't be ignored but reminded of.

What also should be reminded of is not one day later, she decided to go on Instagram and legit said that her biggest realization is how many insecure men there are out there. Just look at her post below.

I can't even. She just took a slap to her biggest critics calling them all insecure for criticizing her for her comments. Kelly you were not criticized because of men being insecure. We're criticizing you because it was the wrong thing to do to your husband and to the backup QB Joe Cox. Kelly also turned off comments to the post and gee I wonder why she did that.

Also, I got to ask, going back to her original apology post, why did she think it was a good idea to post a photo of Joe Cox's kids and wife in her apology? They have nothing to do with the situation that you caused. Why are you throwing them into this situation?

At this point Kelly Stafford just needs to stop talking about it already, never talk about this incident ever again, and move on. It seems like Matthew and Kelly are still in a strong relationship which is great. Especially as they have 4 daughters, and I would hate to see a family broken up over this.
