Michael Wilson Has Much To Compete With For Fantasy Value

Michael Wilson was drafted into an interesting situation in Arizona last year, with the space to lead a thin depth chart and inconsistent QB play. Wilson earned only 57 targets across 13 games, playing with Josh Dobbs, Clayton Tune, and Kyler Murray. He caught 65.5% of his targets with 14.9 yards per catch, which resulted in 565 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Two of his three touchdowns came in Week 4 against the 49ers. He had seven catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns, resulting in 26.60 PPR points, and was the WR6 on the Week, this time with Josh Dobbs.

Wilson played 4 full games with Kyler Murray and was held without a reception in the first two; in the second two games, he had 10 receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown, resulting in back-end WR2 weekly finishes. This is, of course, when the offense could only rely on Trey McBride.

It’s important to mention that he is injury-prone and missed 4 games last season due to shoulder and neck injuries. This season, Wilson faces competition for targets from WR rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. and veterans Greg Dortch, Zay Jones, and Chris Moore. It’s more than likely that Marvin Harrison will be stepping in as WR1 for the Cardinals, with Michael Wilson as WR2, but he could still be third or fourth in the target share pecking order. Fantasy Pros has Wilson ranked as WR67 with a current ADP of 15.1.

Our consensus projections for Wilson in the 2024 season are 34 receptions, 506 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
