Michigan Is About To Run Through One Of The Biggest College Football Gauntlets We Will Ever See
Michigan is on the brink of playing for a college football title this Monday night, potentially capping off one of the most extraordinary and unprecedented football seasons in Michigan's history.
While Michigan is on track to win a title, it's important to note that they've also been grappling with a cheating scandal for the past three months.
Despite the challenges, Michigan is demonstrating remarkable resilience, navigating one of the most demanding periods any football team has ever faced, a test that will persist into 2024.
Michigan was known for playing nobody for the first two months of the season, but that all changed at the start of November.
Michigan had to play Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, and Iowa all in a row to end their BIG TEN season; those were by far the four most demanding games on their regular season schedule, and three teams were ranked in the Top 25.
Michigan would go on to play Alabama in the Rose Bowl, took care of them, and now will play number two Washington for a title.
That is a very tough schedule, but it doesn't end on Monday.
2024
RJ Young from Fox tweeted out a picture of Michigan's 2024 schedule, which is rough.
They must play Texas, Washington, Oregon, and Ohio State, and likely another huge team when they reach the BIG TEN title game.
I have never seen a team have to play this many tough opponents in an 18-game stretch.
Of course, teams can change next season, but Michigan would play all three of the playoff teams from this season, and that includes Washington twice.
I won't be shocked if Michigan wins every single one of the games at this point. Cheating or not, they have proven they're the kings of college football.
