Mike Gesicki Might Griddy More Often This Fantasy Season

Mike Gesicki is coming off of the worst season of his career in 2023 with the Patriots. Not only were the Patriots one of the worst offenses in the league, but Gesicki was also forced to split time with Hunter Henry. Before the 2023 season, Gesicki played five years with the Dolphins; in two of those seasons, he managed to top 700 receiving yards.

This season, Gesicki signed with the Bengals and will be playing with the best quarterback he’s had in his career, Joe Burrow. However, the Bengals have never traditionally overutilized the Tight End position due to having WRs Jamaar Chase and Tee Higgins. Gesicki may be the best Tight End the Bengals have had in a while, so that could change. Especially with Brian Callahan moving on, the new OC, Dan Pitcher, could have a slightly different philosophy with the position.

The major downside of Gesicki is that he is not the best blocker, which could keep him out of red zone opportunities. In the 2024 season, he might find his way into being undrafted in most leagues and will be an interesting player to watch over in waiver wires.

Our consensus projections for Gesicki in the 2024 season are 28 receptions, 255 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
