Milwaukee Bucks Just Made A Huge Statement Other NBA Teams Should Follow
The Milwaukee Bucks have fired their head coach, Adrian Griffin, after 43 games. Griffin was hired this offseason after the Bucks let Mike Budenholzer go.
The Bucks are 30-13 with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, so many wonder why the change.
The Bucks are 30-13 because of the three-star players they have on their team: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Damian Lillard.
The Bucks have been underwhelming so far this season. Even though they have an excellent record, the team doesn't look right in big moments, and they played the worst team in the NBA, the Detroit Pistons, in back-to-back games and gave up 135 and 113 points. The Bucks seemed like they were winning due to stars rather then team play, and you can get away with that in the regular season, but when the playoffs come, you need excellent team play and effort, and it didn't look like it would happen under Griffin.
This move reminds me of what the Cavs did in 2016 when they fired head coach David Blatt and made Tyronn Lue the head man. The Cavs needed a new voice even though they had one of the best records in the NBA and went on to win it all.
The Bucks can follow in the same footsteps as the Cavs, and it's better to fire a coach now and then wait until you get bounced in the first round of the playoffs to do it.
Just because you have an excellent record doesn't mean everything is going well, and more teams should follow what the Bucks did.
